David Le Page and the Minerva Ensemble: Contrasts and Transformations

Strauss “Metamorphosen” (chamber version) TrV 290
Mendelssohn Octet, Opus 20.

Richard Strauss was 81 and his country in ruins when, in 1945, he penned the tragic masterpiece ‘Metamorphosen’. Mendelssohn, whose music was banned under the Nazi regime, was 16 years old when he wrote his fizzy, effervescent Octet. This evening with David Le Page and the Minerva Ensemble will be one of great contrasts and transformations.

Includes glass of wine/soft drink
